Wozhou Lake, a fairyland in Xinchang, Shaoxing, can be reached in about an hour by car from downtown Shaoxing. It locates in Xinchang Wozhou Reservoir in Shaoxing, Zhejiang.

It is said that Wozhou Lake is the birthplace of Chinese landscape poetry, the quintessence of the“Road of Tang poetry”, and also the blessed place of Taoism. Bai Juyi praised it in The Story of Wozhou Mountain Buddhist Temple: As for the landscape of the southeast China, Yue is the head, Shan is the face, and Wozhou Tianmu is the eyebrow.”

At your first sight of Xinchang on arrival, you will see a pool of water unfold in front ofyour eyes.Wozhou Lake, known locally as the Changzhao Reservoir, lies at the southern end of Shaoxing.
