Giant Buddhist Temple

Giant Buddhist Temple is located in

Nanming Mountain - three miles west of Xinchang County

There are beautiful mountains, clean water, rugged rocks

ancient trees, spectacular waterfall

meandering stream, secluded caves, and unusual scenery

During the period of Six Dynasties

it was the center of Chinese Buddhism

and a place where eminent monks and people of great virtues gathered

A large number of scholar from all dynasties visited here

such as Wang Xizhi, Li Bai, Meng Haoran

Mi Fu, Yan Zhenqing, Master Hong Yi

Zhao Puchu, and MATSUURA Tomohisa (Japanese)

They left more than 100 poems and inscriptions here

It is described as a holy land to

worship Buddha and avoid summer heat
