Huatang Ancient Village: A Prosperous Place of Xizhi Culture
When the ancient village comes into my vision, I feel peaceful and quiet all of a sudden.Without visiting the village in person, it is very hard to imagine such a quiet and well-preserved ancient village can be found in the bustling modern world.
With therunning water along the way, I walkedover the wooden bridge across the Xijiang River, a towering stone archway stood head-on with the words Sage of Calligraphy on it. In front of the memorial archway, two stone lions from the Ming Dynasty crouch on both sides, with one on the left and the other on the right. They face each and smile, stretching necks and opening mouths. The words Legacy of the Wei and Jin Dynasty are inscribed on the back of the memorial archway, which shows the glory of the Wang’s Family in the past.
Walking through the ancient village, the descendants of Wang’s Family still live here. The ancient buildings Taimen tell stories that took place during the thousands of years.
Stepping on the pebbled road by the water that surrounds the streets and houses, wandering in theancient village and getting immersed in the strong atmosphere of the ancient village culture, looking at the wooden texture of every carved beam and window, you may think that you have come into a historical picture which is so quiet and beautiful.
