An Ancient Water Town in South China— Anchang Ancient Town

Anchang ancient town with a long history and deep cultural deposit brings us too much surprise. This thousand-year-old water town in south China was built in the Northern Song Dynasty. However, it was burned down several times in history due to the war. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, it was reconstructed. Some ancient buildings in the town are well preserved and restored such as the former site of Bank of China, different kinds of stone bridges and Chinese private banks of different ages.  

Anchang ancient town is quite special, which is characterized by rich folk customs, antique buildings and refined traditional opera books. 

The town is quite different from the usual in the misty light rain. While the rain drops on the river, it makes clear and melodious sound as if it is a piece of music. In the tea house, it feels pleasant to have a cup of tea and listen to the sound of drizzle falling into the river. The world is quiet without the hawking of merchants and the laughter of tourists. It seems that you are alone in the world.
